Artist statement

As an artist from the Asian diaspora, I am interested in the expression and compression of information within cyberspace, facilitating the transformation of culture and identity. My practice depicts William Gibson's cyberspace as hallucinations of billions in unthinkable complexity, through fragmented characters and environments that intersect in neo-expressionist glitch abstraction. Multiple digital drawings over photographs of 3D self-scans are printed and blended with soft pastels into a singular landscape work, creating maximalist, zany digital aesthetics in a panoptic science-fiction narrative. The embedded self underneath the glitch evolves into an unexpected narrative mirroring the fusion of self and culture.
