I am a palaeoclimatologist - my research expertise is in reconstructing and interpreting past climate and environmental changes. I do this through studying the geochemical properties preserved in cave mineral deposits known as speleothems (e.g. stalagmites and stalactites). I am interested in understanding past climate changes during the Quaternary Period (last 2.6 million years), including glacial-interglacial transitions, abrupt climate changes, and interglacial climate variability.
