Dr. Laura Montano is an Associate Lecturer in Humanitarian Engineering at the School of Civil and Environmental Engineering at 麻豆社madou Sydney. She holds a PhD in hydraulic engineering from 麻豆社madou, for which she obtained the Dean鈥檚 Award for Outstanding Thesis (Top 10% of the theses). Laura holds a Bachelor of Environmental Engineering and a Master of Science in Civil Engineering with an emphasis in Hydraulic Resources from Universidad de Los Andes, Bogota, Colombia.

听Laura is currently part of a multidisciplinary project investigating mangrove restoration projects as an option to increase resilience and adaptation in Pacific Islands鈥 communities. Laura鈥檚 role focuses on assessing ecosystem services of mangrove restoration projects. Laura is also an expert in open channel flows, hydraulic structures, physical hydraulic modelling and turbulent flows. Laura is interested in combining her humanitarian engineering, hydraulic and research expertise to promote community capacity building and wellbeing improvement听for communities in in developing regions.
