
Professor Nick Wailes
Professor Nick Wailes is the inaugural Dean, Lifelong Learning at Â鶹Éçmadou and Director of the Australian Graduate School of Management (AGSM). Prior to taking on this role he was AGSM Director and Senior Deputy Dean (External Engagement) at the Â鶹Éçmadou Business School. He has previously held positions at the University of Sydney and the University of Auckland as well as visiting positions at a number of leading international business schools.Â
In his role, Nick’s focus is on working across the institution and with partners to create high quality educational experiences that equip individuals and organisations with the skills and capabilities that they need to succeed in a rapidly changing world. Nick and his team have a strong track record of driving successful innovation in higher education, experience in creating successful partnerships internally and externally and delivering impactful, industry relevant programs that deliver successful outcomes for organisations and individuals.
Nick’s academic research focusses on two main areas: international and comparative employment relations and the impact of technology on organisations. He has successfully attracted competitive national research funding and led national and international research teams. His research has been published in books and leading international journals including Industrial Relations and The Journal of Strategic Information Systems.
Nick is originally from Aotearoa, New Zealand, and holds degrees in History, Economics and Management Studies from the University of Auckland and a PhD in Work and Organisational Studies from the University of Sydney. He teaches and consults in the areas of leadership, strategy, disruption and change.
