Overview
Â鶹Éçmadou’s Business School’s Master of Commerce Extension (MCom (Ext)) is a postgraduate coursework degree that can be completed in two-years full-time. Designed in consultation with industry, this degree prepares you with a depth of knowledge, a breadth of experience, and the hands-on experience needed to succeed across diverse careers in business.ÌýÌý
With 14 specialisations to choose from, the MCom (Ext) allows you to study one or two areas of business. You’ll then broaden your knowledge through electives that prepare you for future careers, such as analytics or FinTech.
You’ll be guided by highly reputable academics and professionals, as you explore essential concepts and gain practical experience to enhance your learning. This degree is career-focused from day one. Whatever you specialise in, you’ll connect with industry, learn with real-world tools and technology, and have access to work-experience, career development, and mentoring opportunities.
Through theÌýMaster of Commerce (MCom), you can also choose two specialisations. The MCom includes less electives and can be finished in 1.7 years.

Entry requirements
The degree’s admission requirements are based on you having a recognised undergraduate degree (or equivalent qualification) with a credit average (WAM 65% or higher), as determined by the Â鶹Éçmadou Business School.ÌýYou may be considered eligible if your undergraduate degree WAM is between 60-64% and your score for the GMAT is at least 600 for the GMAT Exam or at least 565 for the GMAT Focus Edition.
Recognition of Prior Learning (RPL)
If you’ve studied an undergraduate degree that relates to the areas of business you’d like to study, you could be eligible for up to 24 Units of Credit (UOC), or four courses of RPL. These credit points will allow you to take fewer subjects and graduate sooner.ÌýÌý
Admission pathways
If you don't meet the entry requirements, you may be eligible to study the Graduate Certificate in CommerceÌýa pathway into the MCom (Ext). Upon successful completion, your Graduate Certificate in Commerce courses may be credited towards your Master's.
English language requirements

You may be asked to provide evidence of your English proficiency to study at Â鶹Éçmadou depending on your educational background and citizenship. English language skills are vitally important for coping with lectures, tutorials, assignments and examinations - this is why Â鶹Éçmadou requires a minimum English language competency for enrolment.
If you’re completing an Australian Year 12 qualification (e.g. NSW HSC or equivalent), you do not need to provide anything extra to prove your proficiency. Your qualification will be used as evidence of your English proficiency.
If you do need to provide evidence of your English proficiency, this will be indicated in your application. You can prove this by providing evidence that you meet one or more of the following criteria:
- English language tests and university English courses
- Prior study in the medium of English
- Other qualifications
If you need to improve your English skills before you start your degree, are for you. The programs are suitable for various English levels and help you prepare for university studies and life in Australia.

Note: Applicants from non-211 universities in China wishing to study Postgraduate Coursework in the Â鶹Éçmadou Business School must achieve a minimum overall average of 88 in their current university’s grading system. This is equivalent to an 85% Australian scaled average using the calculator.

Program structure
The Master of Commerce (Ext) is a two-year program consisting of 14 courses and a capstone project. The program includes:
- Core units on professional skills, ethics, data literacy and data communication
- Gateway courses that support your specialisation/s
- Courses in one or two specialisations
- Business and free electives
- A Coding for Business course
- A capstone or practicum
The number of electives you take will depend on whether you study one or two specialisations. You can study up to two courses from other faculties as electives.
Full program structure
This Master’s degree can be studied full-time or part-time. Full-time study is considered two to three courses per term, however it’s normal for postgraduate students to plan their studies around other life commitments.
Each Â鶹Éçmadou university year has three terms and an optional summer study period. Depending on how you plan your study load, you can fit two or three courses into a term and one course in a summer term.
