Our evolved academic calendar

The key features of the new 'flex-semester' calendar include:

  • Two semesters, each with 12 weeks of teaching with a mid-semester break 
  • Two optional six-week summer and winter terms are available for short or intensive course  
  • Alignment with our hexamester offering, which consists of six teaching periods per year, to expand our lifelong learning offering and introduce options to leverage this calendar more broadly in the future.

Project timeline

To ensure a smooth transition to the flex-semester calendar in 2028, the project team will work with teams across the University to understand where transition support and adjustments are required.
