Human Movement Laboratories

Welcome to our Human Movement Laboratories. We use Vicon cameras and markerless motion capture to analyse movement in both lab and real-world settings. Our facilities integrate mobile devices and wearable sensors for enhanced data collection. We also offer VR/AR systems for rehabilitation research and high-density EMG equipment to study muscle activity and neuromuscular control.
Motion Capture & Tracking
Our state-of-the-art facility is equipped with Vicon cameras for high-precision 3D motion capture. This technology allows for the detailed analysis of human movement and biomechanics in laboratory settings. We also employ markerless motion capture approaches alongside traditional marker-based methods to provide comprehensive movement analysis in real-life scenarios outside the lab.
Mobile Device Integration
The integration of mobile devices such as iPads, iPhones, and Apple Watches enhances our data collection capabilities, allowing for the monitoring and assessment of movement in real-world settings.
Wearable Sensors
Our laboratory is outfitted with advanced wearable sensors capable of both short and long-term measurements. These sensors are crucial for capturing detailed kinematic and kinetic data during movement.
Virtual & Augmented Reality (VR/AR)
The lab features VR/AR headsets and high precision actuation units, enabling immersive and interactive research studies. These tools are instrumental in developing and testing new rehabilitation protocols and assistive devices.
Electromyography (EMG) Equipment
We have high-density EMG equipment designed to measure the electrical activity of muscles during contraction. This data is used to study human neuromuscular control and understand muscle function and coordination.
