Alumni & industry

Personalise
Makerspace, Ken Leanfore

At the School of Electrical Engineering and Telecommunications, we’ve built and maintained strong connections to both alumni and industry.

Our enviable research record is built on a network of mutually beneficial partnerships with government and industry. We also have a reputation for innovation in teaching and learning, producing highly sought after graduates with an awareness of industrial productivity.

Industry Advisory Board

The Industry Advisory Board (IAB) comprises senior industry representatives, who provide high level advice and feedback to the School about curriculum and program design, new courses, industry trends and needs, and the expectation of industry with regards to graduate capabilities. The IAB meets twice per year with the School’s executives and Heads of Disciplines. The following industry representatives are current members of the board:

  • Kerim is a principal power consultant with more than twenty five years of experience in Australia and on international projects, including site engineer roles.

His broad engineering experience encompasses transmission and distribution systems, transient stability analysis of large power systems, power quality analysis, renewable generation, mining systems, hydropower, thermal power generation, large pumping stations, and energy storage.
Kerim is also a highly proficient project and design manager, conversant with authoring concept designs to contractual documents for tendering purpose, contract negotiation with suppliers, supervision of works and contracts, team management, and building successful relationships and engagement with clients.
He is a Fellow member of Engineers Australia and a member of the International Council on Large Electric Systems group C6/C1.33 on multi-energy system interactions in distribution grids.
