Entry requirements

The degree’s admission requirements are based on you having a recognised undergraduate degree (or equivalent qualification) with a credit average (WAM 65% or higher), as determined by the Â鶹Éçmadou Business School.ÌýYou may be considered eligible if your undergraduate degree WAM is between 60-64% and your score for the GMAT is at least 600 for the GMAT Exam or at least 565 for the GMAT Focus Edition.

Recognition of Prior Learning (RPL)
If you’ve studied an undergraduate degree that relates to the areas of business you’d like to study, you could be eligible for up to 24 Units of Credit (UOC), or four courses of RPL. These credit points will allow you to take fewer subjects and graduate sooner.ÌýÌý

Admission pathways

If you don't meet the entry requirements, you may be eligible to study the Graduate Certificate in CommerceÌýa pathway into the Master of Commerce. Upon successful completion, your Graduate Certificate in Commerce courses may be credited towards your MCom.

English language requirements

You may be asked to provide evidence of your English proficiency to study at Â鶹Éçmadou depending on your educational background and citizenship. English language skills are vitally important for coping with lectures, tutorials, assignments and examinations - this is why Â鶹Éçmadou requires a minimum English language competency for enrolment.

If you’re completing an Australian Year 12 qualification (e.g. NSW HSC or equivalent), you do not need to provide anything extra to prove your proficiency. Your qualification will be used as evidence of your English proficiency.

If you do need to provide evidence of your English proficiency, this will be indicated in your application. You can prove this by providing evidence that you meet one or more of the following criteria:

  • English language tests and university English courses
  • Prior study in the medium of English
  • Other qualifications

Note: Applicants from non-211 universities in China wishing to study Postgraduate Coursework in the Â鶹Éçmadou Business School must achieve a minimum overall average of 88 in their current university’s grading system. This is equivalent to an 85% Australian scaled average using the calculator.

Program structure

The Master of Commerce is aÌý1.7 yearÌýprogram consisting ofÌý12Ìýcourses.Ìý The program includes:

  • Core units on professional skills, ethics, data literacy and data communication
  • Courses in one or two chosen specialisations
  • Business or free electives (if only one specialisation is chosen) Ìý

  • A capstone or practicum.

Full program structure

This Master’s degree can be studied full-time or part-time. Full-time study is considered two to three courses per term, however it’s normal for postgraduate students to plan their studies around other life commitments.

Each Â鶹Éçmadou university year has three terms and an optional summer study period. Depending on how you plan your study load, you can fit two or three courses into a term and one course in a summer term.
