The Master of Finance is a one to two-year postgraduate program delivered by Australia’s #1 Business School*. Developed in close consultation with the finance sector, this program exposes you to the latest thinking and research in finance.

With two entry points, students with a degree in a field other than finance can join the two-year program. Finance undergraduates who want to study advanced topics can choose the one-year option.Ìý

Entry requirements

The Master of Finance has two entry points, which require varying qualifications.

Pathway 1 | Two-year program

You will need:

  • A bachelor’s degree in any field with a credit average (65% or higher) as determined by the .

Pathway 2 | One-year accelerated program

You’ll need the following:

  • A recognised bachelor’s degree (or equivalent qualification) with a credit average (65% or higher) as determined by the ; and
  • A major (at least seven courses) in finance within the bachelor’s degree.

Recognition of Prior Learning
If you've successfully completed the CFA program by passing all three levels of CFA exam, you may be granted exemption for 12 UOC.

English language requirements

You may be asked to provide evidence of your English proficiency to study at Â鶹Éçmadou depending on your educational background and citizenship. English language skills are vitally important for coping with lectures, tutorials, assignments and examinations - this is why Â鶹Éçmadou requires a minimum English language competency for enrolment.

If you’re completing an Australian Year 12 qualification (e.g. NSW HSC or equivalent), you do not need to provide anything extra to prove your proficiency. Your qualification will be used as evidence of your English proficiency.

If you do need to provide evidence of your English proficiency, this will be indicated in your application. You can prove this by providing evidence that you meet one or more of the following criteria:

  • English language tests and university English courses
  • Prior study in the medium of English
  • Other qualifications

Students who are not graduates of Australian or New Zealand universities

For students who studied at overseas universities, a credit average grade (65% or higher) is the normal academic requirement for Australian universities. You can calculate the equivalent using the . Details on assessment will be determined by your grading system so ensure this is attached to your transcript when you apply.

Note: Applicants from non-211 universities in China wishing to study Postgraduate Coursework in the Â鶹Éçmadou Business School, must achieve a minimum overall average of 88 in their current university’s grading system. This is equivalent to an 85% Australian scaled average.

Program structure

This program provides the skills and experience you need to tailor your qualification to your career goals.

  • Students who joined the program through Pathway 1 must finish the Stage 1 courses before moving on to Stage 2 courses.
  • Students commencing from Pathway 2 don’t have to complete Stage 1 courses and can immediately move on to Stage 2.Ìý

Full program structure

At Â鶹Éçmadou, each university year has three terms and an optional summer study period. Full-time students can typically fit two or three courses in one term and one course in the summer term.
