Kick-start your global career in the minerals and energy sectors by studying with Australia’s #1 Engineering Faculty. At our School of Minerals and Energy Resources Engineering, we offer undergraduate and postgraduate programs within Mining, and Geoenergy and Geostorage. Ranked 3rd globally for mineral and mining engineering, you’ll learn from industry leaders and develop your knowledge and skills, while gaining valuable engineering experience.

What is Energy, Resources and Geostorage?

Interested in tackling global energy issues? Energy, resources and geostorage touch on the skills and knowledge you need to support sustainable development and drive real environmental impact. Mining Engineering is responsible for extracting essential minerals and geological materials from the Earth, many of which are used to develop the technologies needed to support the industries working toward environmental sustainability. On the other hand, Geoenergy & Geostorage Engineering deals with energy sources derived from the earth’s subsurface and process of capturing and storing substances, like C02, safely underground.

Our programs blend traditional minerals and energy resource engineering with renewable energy solutions, focusing on areas like carbon capture and storage, hydrogen storage and geothermal energy.

Explore the impact you could make across a range of engineering fields, including:

  • Sustainable use of Earth's resources

  • Carbon capture and storage technologies

  • Renewable energy solutions like geothermal and hydrogen storage

  • Environmental impact and mitigation
