Keeping you safe online

The security of the university’s information, and the privacy of our students and staff, are essential to our mission to transform lives through excellence in research, outstanding education, and a commitment to advancing a just society. As valued members of the university community, we each play a role in improving cyber security.

IT Cyber Security helps protect our university community by informing, educating, and supporting safe online behaviour, practices, and obligations around information security.

Our cyber security team manages business processes and technologies for the provision, maintenance, and use of identities, credentials and entitlements according to Cyber Security Policies and Standards.

ÌýIncidents you should report include:

  • Suspecting an IT service, device or account has been compromised.

  • Evidence of vulnerable Â鶹Éçmadou IT services.

  • Unauthorised disclosure of sensitive information or discovering a lost Â鶹Éçmadou asset.

  • Observing a breach of university policy.

Cyber security services

Your zID & password

Your zID is used to access a variety of online services. Find out how to change your password and keep your account secure through Â鶹Éçmadou Identity Manager.

Multi Factor Authentication

Multi Factor Authentication (MFA) is required for all Â鶹Éçmadou students, staff (including casuals and affiliates), and anyone with a current zID account.
Single Sign On (SSO)

Streamline your access with SSO. Use one set of credentials—your zID and password—to log in to multiple University services and applications securely.
User Access Review

User Access Review details the mandatory process, roles, and responsibilities for access reviews based on the Cyber Security Standard.
Password Manager for SA accounts

Use the SA Password Manager portal to easily change your zID_sa password for the production environment.
Privileged Access Management (PAM)

Privileged Access Management (PAM) is designed to protect, control, and manage privileged accounts and credentials within Â鶹Éçmadou.

Reporting cyber incidents

It is important to report any cyber security incidents as quickly as possible so that Â鶹Éçmadou IT’s Cyber Security team can address any issues and mitigate risk exposure.

What should I report?

  • Suspecting your computer or account has been compromised.
  • Having evidence on how technology or University data may be vulnerable.
  • Noticing a colleague inappropriately sharing Highly Sensitive or Sensitive data.
  • Losing a University asset containing sensitive information.
