Working with NVivo for Windows and NVivo for Mac

You can transfer NVivo projects between NVivo for Windows and NVivo for Mac. Projects will have different file formats, and before converting any projects we recommend to backup your project and understand the cross-platform limitations and issues - all data may not successfully convert due to restrictions on data interchange between operating systems. Please note that to work with a project in this way, you must be using the newest version of NVivo for Mac with the newest version of NVivo for Windows, and not a combination of new and old NVivo releases. For example, you can’t work with a project in this way using the first release of NVivo for Mac and latest release of NVivo for Windows.
